By taking interest in our organization you are showing support for the arts and culture in your community. We are a group of volunteer performers showcasing the ancient art of Japanese Taiko drumming. The sounds of our drums inspire and move our listeners, spreading a message of excitement, joy and spirit to our friends and neighbors.

In May 2024, Oregon Community Foundation approved a(n) Community Grants grant in the amount of $15,000.00 for Takohachi Inc. Huge thank you to Blitz-Weinhard Fund of Oregon Community Foundation for supporting the fund!!!

TAKOHACHI is awarded $2,000 Arts3C Grant Spring 2024 toward an annual recital by Kotori Kai Shamisen School. We will present a new song composed by Mr. Yasukazu KANO featuring Tsugaru Shamisen, Shinobue Bamboo Flute, and Taiko as well as authentic Japanese Shamisen music. We aim the concert in Fall 2024. Oregon Community Foundation Partners with TAKOHACHI to introduce Japanese culture through music! TAKOHAHCI was awarded a $10,000 Community Grant 2023 from the Oregon Community Foundation for general operating support. This fund was supported by the Roy and Dian Marvin Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. THANK YOU!

In Dec 2023, TAKOHACHI is thrilled to have received a Small Arts & Culture Grants grant ($5,000) from the Fred W. Fields Fund of Oregon Community Foundation. With support like this, we were able to offer over 60 performances this year - ranging from solo acts to large group shows. We are grateful for this opportunity to share Japanese music and culture with our local communities and beyond. Looking ahead, we are excited for the upcoming year and the chance to continue educating and entertaining audiences through our art.

TAKOHACHI is supported by funds from the Oregon Arts Commission, a state agency funded by the State of Oregon.

Takohachi was awarded a grant from the Goodman Family Foundation in 2023. This is our second year to get awarded by the Goodman Family Foundation. Thank you so much!

Takohachi has been selected to become a RACC Capacity Building Partner organization and awarded a grant. Our activities are funded in part by the Regional Arts & Culture Council.
